Composting at SVM
Did you know that almost all of the food at SVM comes in compostable packaging? It sure does!
Cups, plates, burger boxes, cutlery, straws, & napkins….. Chuck them into the green bins and make a difference to the planet!
SVM has always been proudly single-use plastic free, however we continued to have waaaaaay too much waste going to landfill so we’ve shaken things up and have composting bins on-site!
LOOK OUT FOR THE BINS WITH GREEN COVERS!
All bio-plastic & cardboard packaging, plus any food scraps can go straight in!
REMEMBER: foil wrappings, cans, bottles and pamphlets can NOT go in there.
After the market, the waste is taken to a commercial composting facility and turned into soil, coooool!
Creating a circular economy at SVM is a big way we can all help to save the planet and one of its most precious commodities, soil. You know, the place we grow all of our delicious veggies in!
