We've put together some answers to the questions we've been getting

These are for stall holders, visitors and the curious

If your question isn't here, please shoot us an email hello@sydneyveganmarket.com

+ What's happening with SVM?

We are currenty working with Inner West council on a new DA that is specific to SVM at Addison Rd Community Centre. This will take minimum 100 days so in that time we are unable to trade as we have been.

We are thinking of ways we can move forward during this time so keep your eyes on Social Media and the website!

+ I would like to have a stall at Sydney Vegan Market

Great! We want you too! We only have one criteria: That your business/product range/menu is entirely vegan or plant based ie you don't use or sell animal products ever, like ever! Animal products include meat, dairy, eggs, honey, fur and wool. Animal testing is also included in this.

+ How much does it cost to have a stall at SVM?

So that we can continue to ensure SVM has the longevity, infrastructure and innovation that we are becoming known for, we have needed to increase the cost of our stall fees. We are committed to SVM being a place where small vegan businesses can thrive and promise to maintain our integrity and passion as we grow and show Sydney how it's done.

  • Fresh Food: $200
  • Pre-made Food $150
  • Non-Food: $100
  • Not For Profit: $50

+ I'm interested in sponsoring SVM, what's the deal?

There are two sponsorship opportunities for SVM and in keeping with our logo they are Cockatoo and Kookaburra.

  • Cockatoo Sponsors pay an extra $200 per market & get a kick ass stall location so you definitely won't be missed on market day and ongoing newsletter and social media posts to a stack of engaged folk who are dying to hear about you and your product
  • Kookaburra Sponsors pay an extra $100 per market and get the choice between a kick ass stall location (limited number available) OR ongoing newsletter and social media posts

+ What do I need to bring with me to trade at SVM?

SVM at COMMUNE is an indoor market & you'll need to bring your own tables and all of your own equipment. Our food stalls also need to adhere to food safety guidelines! We provide the little block of land and the number of power points you've paid for. Please note that SVM is a plastic free event so all plates, utensils, cups, straws, serving trays etc must be bio. Drinks for consumption on market day are also not permitted to be sold in glass.

+ What documents do I need?

You'll need Public/Product Liability insurance up to $20mil and if you're a food seller you'll also need:

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • To fill out the Inner West Council Temp Food Permit form (& provide to the event organiser)
  • A sketch of your stall set up

+ How many servings should I bring?

This one is always hard to forecast! COMMUNE allows 1000 people inside at any time and as we are having 2 sessions the most amount of punters will be 2000. We limit the fresh food stalls to around 15 too.

+ What happens if I don't get in?

Our market is curated so that your business stands out from the crowd and so that our customers can see a wide range of products. This means that we only have limited numbers in each category. If you don't get in one month, try again! We want to continue to invigorate and will invite new busineses to trade at every market.

+ I'd like to visit SVM, what is the address and how do I get there?

We are at COMMUNE, 901 Bourke St, Waterloo. There are numerous ways to get there including:

  • Riding your bike
  • Walking
  • Car pooling
  • Catching the train to Greensquare
  • UBER

+ Are there ATM's?

Yep, we have 2 on-site! Some vendors also have EFTPOS facilities but take it from us, BYO cash is the ticket! Those ATM queues are u g l y

+ Can I bring my dog/kids?

YES! Please do! In fact, if you don't we will all have feelings and you'll have to go home and get them.

+ What should I bring?

There are a couple of things that will make your stay at SVM that much better. Along with cash, your own cup/container/water bottle/shopping bags (or you can get your very own SVM bag at the info stall!), a willingness to be introduced to the wonders of cruelty free living and an empty tummy!
